There are more than 25 field animators working different parts of the diocese for the well-being of the poor people and making them literate to fight back the social evils which are oppressing them from their past generations.

Sponsorship Programme :
The sponsorship programme is the one of the major programmes run by the Diocesan Social Service Centre, Eluru. As many people because of their poverty don't concentrate on the education of their children and hence the children are becoming child labourers and street children. To eradicate this programme the Diocesan Education Committee Headed by the Chairman of the Diocese and supported by the Director of Social Service Centre found sponsorship programme to identify those children to accommodate them in the boarding homes by providing them with the needed educational facilities and looking after other incidental expenses. At present this programme is maintained in 13 boarding homes with 860 sponsored students.

Eradication of Child abour :
Present burning problem in our state of Andhra Pradesh is Child labour. In spite of initiating several programmes for eradication of child labour there are number children working in hotels, mechanic shops, cattle boys at landlords houses and living as beggars in slum areas. Under our jurisdiction in Eluru Town we have identified number of child beggars, rag pickers in slum area. Therefore we have started pre-primary school for age group of 3 to 5 years in Eluru Slum areas. After fifth standard we are sending those children to our boarding homes for providing free education.

Vocational Training Programmes :
In our diocese we have started Vocational training Centre for drop out children to give training on immediate employment skill according to the students interest like electrician, mechanism in Radio and T.V., Four Wheel driving, Printing, cover making, bedside nurses, fitter and carpenter.
