ACHIEVEMENTS BY THE SSC PROGRAMMES

KONASEEMA ANIMATION PROGRAM UNDER SOCIAL SERVICE, ELURU
Impact of the project:

We see vast change in their life style before the project they were illiterate without unity, addicted to drinking, so savings, exploited by the landlords and traders, unreachable to the government officials. But now there is a lot of change. Many of them became literate, female children are also sent to school, exploitation identified and protested, gained skills in rich of the trade, able to save Rs.100/- and became confident after the trainings and now able to meet government officials to represent their problems with great confidence. This is a very healthy change in 154 villages of 228 CBOs in Konaseema.

SURAKSHA PROGRAMME

Achievements:

  • Due to awareness kalajatras, different workshops rallies padayatras conducted at village level people are sensitized on the activities of Suraksha
  • Child labour problem has come down
  • Formation of groups reduced atrocity of women and child, exploitation, abuse and discrimination.
  • HIV –AIDS infected and affected are psychologically strong and secure.
  • Awareness resulting interest in youth for self reliance through vocational training

Tsunami Rehabilitation Program – Amalapuram Region

Impact of the project:
The beneficiaries have already started using the boats and they are developing good Livelihood. They are also able to save certain amount of money every month and they also started repayment monthly from the savings into village development fund account.

  1. The nets have already been put in use in their fishing operations. This added to their income. They have already started repayment for the nets into village development fund account.
  2. The production of saltpans started in February 2006 which amounts to hundred bags of 50 kgs each. Before Tsunami they produced only 20 to 30 bags. The work is in progress.
  3. The Task Force Committees (TFCs) have become experts in disaster management after the number of mock drills conducted. We are provide that our TFCs are adjudged the best among all the TFCs by the Government Officials.
  4. The trainings have brought in tremendous changes the life styles of these beneficiaries. The trainings produced leaders, Ward members, Literacy Instructors, Health Workers and empowered youth who stimulate the members towards the growth. The leaders also maintain good rapport with the government official which they were scared of before the trainings.
  5. The CBO trainings in various issues strengthened unity among the groups which resulted in finding solutions collectively. They also became literate and skilled in various new businesses and tricks of the trade.

 

Premanvitha: The government has entrusted a school of Premanvitha which is located at Eluru aim to provide education for the physically challenged children. Social Service Centre is running the school in order to achieve the set objectives with a great spirit of commitment and dedication.
